Application of Sapphire Light Guide Blocks in Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Hair Removal Devices

Product Description:

Sapphire light guide blocks are utilized in laser aesthetic instruments as optical components. These rectangular optical glass blocks feature six fully polished optical surfaces. One end face is coated with a cut-off filter film, typically blocking light below 575 nm while allowing transmission at 600 nm–1200 nm. The transmitted light undergoes total internal reflection within the light guide block and exits through the opposite end face, directing the laser beam onto the skin surface for cosmetic treatments. They serve as optical windows in IPL devices, ensuring precise light delivery.

Key Advantages of Sapphire:

  • Superior Thermal Conductivity: Sapphire’s excellent heat dissipation prevents overheating during high-energy laser operations.
  • Single-Crystal Structure: Enhanced durability to withstand intense laser energy, ensuring safety and user comfort.
  • Upgrade from K9 Glass/Quartz: Sapphire outperforms traditional materials (e.g., K9 glass, quartz) in terms of reliability, safety, and energy efficiency.

Product Variants:

  • Shapes: Available in rectangular prisms, cuboids, and tapered geometries, with two optical transmission surfaces.
  • Customization:
    • Fabrication: Supports drilling, slotting, and other shape modifications.
    • Coatings: Tailored cut-off or anti-reflection coatings to optimize light transmission.

Optical Coating Bands and Applications:

  • 430 nm/480 nm: Acne/pimple reduction.
  • 530 nm: Pigmentation/wrinkle correction.
  • 560 nm: Skin whitening and rejuvenation.
  • 580 nm: Redness/vascular lesion removal.
  • 640 nm/670 nm/690 nm: Permanent hair reduction.

Sapphire light guide blocks combine precision, durability, and safety, making them ideal for next-generation IPL cosmetic devices.
